please don’t let me down!

i am working a new layout. i’ve had this one up for about two weeks now and i’m pretty proud of myself for having some self-restraint! the bad thing about keeping something on for a while and stifling your creativity is the fact that you don’t know what to make when you actually need to.

what a long, long day.

i was supposed (key word here) to get a new phone today since i had a one-year contract with t-mobile that i started last year. i was extremely excited to be getting a new phone since i’m so tired of my sidekick & i just like ooh-ing and ahh-ing over new phone releases.

we got to the t-mobile dealer and chose out our new phones – i was debating between the new mytouch or the samsung behold when the t-mobile agent checked our account and it turns out that we still had four months left on our plan. we had a discounted four-month trial of myfaves last year so it didn’t work out in the end.

my sister and i were sooo disappointed. we were looking forward to just getting new phones for the both of us. eek, what a long day. we spent about three hours talking to dealers at different stores to see where we could get the best plan and coverage and whatnot and it turned out to be such a waste. the contract in actuality ends january sixth so i guess i have to keep my icky sidekick until then.

in other news, the annual street fair has come to my neighborhood again. it’s a half-mile long fair with food vendors, amusement park rides and whatnot – it’s a fun experience and a bit nostalgic as you walk through the fair and you remember yourself going on the rides that you can’t go on anymore.

the food vendors at the fair are pretty unique though! there are zeppoles (deep fried dough that’s tossed with confectioner’s sugar – tastes a bit like a fried cruller if you’ve had that with congee before!), deep fried oreos (never tried this; never intend on trying it – it just sounds like a heart attack in a doughy shell) & funnel cakes along with other ‘delicacies’ like raw squid and eel and all that fun stuff. safe to say that my stomach is not tough enough to handle that kind of food. heck, i even have trouble eating spam.

PS, i’m going to try and get through a full week of college first before i tackle the name tag prize for a random commenter. here’s a preview of what it’ll look like.

cheesecake day, clean-up, college and crappy apologies

hi guys! i know i haven’t blogged in a couple of days and quite a few things have happened since the last time i blogged, so here’s a run-through of que pasa!

cheesecake day aka mommy’s birthday

it was my mom’s birthday last wednesday. usually, we don’t do much to celebrate her birthday save for a special dinner or going out to eat. this past year, my mom’s been really supportive of me even while i was going through some rough times in high school so i figured the least i could do was make my mommy a cake.

my dad came up with the idea of a cheesecake since our family is pretty much in love with them and they taste amazing. i looked up a few recipes, bought all the necessary ingredients & made two since the graham cracker crusts were very little. they turned out pretty, i think. i decorated them since i was bored – a chocolate chip heart & a lemon flower, hehe. i have too much time on my hands.

don’t they look good? :) the first is a plain cheesecake. it took me FOREVER to put on the chocolate chips since they were melting from my fingers’ body warmth. the second is a lemon cheesecake.

clean-up

as promised in the last blog, i’m going to be conducting an affiliate clean-up.

the majority of the affiliates i have right now are not even on speaking terms with me & call me delusional, but an affiliate is a friend. and friends sure as heck talk to each other.

it bothers me beyond belief when people request to be affiliates or accept my affiliation request and then end up NEVER contacting me or commenting me. i always go out of my way to try and comment on each affie’s blog at least twice a week and i’m getting really irritated to the point where i HAVE to do a clean-up.

so, in the next few days, i’ll just be leaving comments on each and every one of my unactive affiliate’s site pages and if i don’t receive a comment back in five to seven days, then you’re off of my affie list. i’m sorry to be mean, but what you’re doing is really not behavior i’d like from my affiliate either.

(first day of) college

as most of you should know, today was my first day of college as a freshman. it’s weird how the first day’s on a friday but whatever, haha.

i had two classes today: english composition (one hour & a half) & political science (THREE! hours.) they ended earlier since it was the first day and we didn’t do much except assign books and review the syllabus and participate in boring icebreakers & introductions. (think something along the lines of, ‘hi i’m katherine. i play tennis. i want to major in art and design.’)

after that, i came home in the pouring rain and just slept a bit since it’s been ridiculously cold and whenever i’m cold, i’m tired. i’m strange.

all in all, it was a pretty good day. both of my professors so far are pretty young and they seem cool.

crappy apologies

in my previous blog, i promised that i would pick a random commentor and create a doodle name tag for them but i’ve been really hoarded up with alot of things. i don’t think i’ll have the time to do it anytime soon but i definitely will try to get around to it in a week!

i really want to get through a full week of college first as well as get the materials needed for all of my classes prior to it since if i start it now, i’ll get sidetracked and distracted and end up either half-assing it or forgetting it altogether, which isn’t something i want.

also! i was going to make a vlog today but i honestly had no idea what to say. i think i might need some practice first, haha so sorry for that delay as well. i’m also going to organize all of the questions for the Q&A session too.
